General purpose, C-mount lenses are...
General purpose M42-mount lenses are used in the same circumstances as F-mount lenses but in situations when space is constrained or when a short flange focal distance is required for wide angle applications.
They can be used with extension tubes to optimise coverage and working distance.
As with C-mount and F-mount lenses, high performance M42-mount lenses give superior optical performance to standard resolution models.
These lenses are generally optimised for use in the visible spectrum but some models are also IR corrected.
