General purpose illumination with a wide variety of applications.  Area lights are generally used to project light onto the object the object, producing more localised lighting that floodlighting.  They can be positioned at any angle or distance from the object.  They are commonly used in pairs or quads to produce shadowless lighting similar to barlighting.  Available in a range of sizes to give optimum coverage and to meet physical constraints/working distances.  Best performance when the product has a non-shiny surface.
