Senior Applications Engineer/Manager
Multipix Imaging is an ISO 9001 vision camera specialist company, distributing camera systems and components from all over the world into the UK & Ireland. Applications are incredibly varied and our customers are found in areas including Industrial Automation, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Aerospace, Bio-engineering, Agriculture and Sports analysis amongst many others. We provide new and innovative solutions to businesses in the exciting world of vision engineering.

We are looking for a keen and driven person to join our technical team and grow together with us! Previous vision experience would be advantageous, but not required. A broad engineering background with a ‘hands-on’ approach and willingness to learn is specifically what we are looking for. Key skills need to include a good foundation in basic engineering/electronics/interfacing and an understanding of Visual Studio and Python coding. Specific training on the products and software will be provided, but the successful candidate will also need to be capable of self-learning. Job Summary
A permanent, full-time position as Senior Applications Engineer/Manager has become available. This is a very important and influential role within our friendly team, based in Petersfield, Hampshire.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, keen, organised and will fit into our team well.
The successful candidate will report directly to the board of Directors including the Managing Director, who is a keen engineer at heart.
The role will encompass all technical areas of our business with strong links to the sales and marketing departments. There is scope to modify and extend the role into management, offing the successful candidate the ability to shape things into the future.
After suitable training, key duties will include:
Being part of offering ‘industry best’ technical/applications support for the products we distribute. Main areas include:
- Strong communication/teamwork/problem solving skills
- General IT/PC system knowledge and understanding
- Specific GigE/10GigE, USB and proprietary camera interfacing and configuration including timing/triggering scenarios
- Hardware SDK & Image processing SDK understanding and support
- Knowledge of embedded PC architecture
- Solving technical issues at all levels for our customers
- Efficient in Time Management
- Continually thinking and developing new and on-point demos for our lab, events and exhibitions
- Continual improvement, through organised training and self-learning
- A strong focus on pre-sales support/applications engineering
- Thinking out of the box sometimes! – New ideas are always great!
Skills and Qualifications:
HND or higher in an Engineering discipline
A keen interest in technology and eager to learn
5+ years’ experience as an engineer/in an applications role
Comfortable working with computer-based hardware and software
Comfortable working with Windows and Linux environments
Knowledge of Visual Studio and Python
Well organised and strong attention to detail
Basic experience with robotics and/or image processing would also be beneficial
Flexibility – being a relatively small company, the successful candidate needs to be able to switch quickly between tasks, no 2 days are the same!
