Open eVision 2.0 includes a new optical character recognition (OCR) library, EasyOCR2, new segmentation algorithms, text rotation support, and licensing system simplifications.
EasyOCR2 includes optimisation for reading short texts- including part numbers, serial numbers and expiration dates. It also includes a segmentation algorithm to automatically locate text in an image based on expected character size and text topology and full support for text rotation (360 degrees).
Additionally, with Open eVision 2.0, licenses become independent of the revision number, so all Open eVision licenses from Open eVision 1.2 will work with revisions of Open eVision 1.2 and above.
