Machine vision cameras typically have separate connectors for data and sychronisation Input/Output (I/O) and/or power.  In the case of analogue cameras, 12 way Hirose connectors have been commonly used for power and synchronisation for many years.

Many modern digital output cameras also tend to use the same 12 way Hirose connector for the power and/or the I/O lines.

Power connectors that have live pins on the end of power supplies have female type connectors to prevent accidental short circuiting and thus cameras have male type equivalents.

Many other camera accessory units such as converters and extenders also tend to employ Hirose connectors but they are not always 12 way.  6 way connectors are also common and 10 way are also found occasionally.

In the case of ruggedised cameras for harsh environments – there are some cameras offered with MIL spec or industrial grade connectors such as industrial Ethernet.
