Maximising crop efficiency with quality 3D data
The Crop Department at the National Physics Laboratory has been using the PhoXi 3D scanner from Photoneo as part of a 3D crop scanning. As Dr Richard Dudley describes in this video, analysing the crops in 3D can help identify which crops give the greatest yield or have tolerances to disease and drought.
The PhoXi 3D scanner with map the image right down to individual grains of wheat to see what condition they are in. This will allow farmers to optimise water usage and when to harvest their crops.
